Rebekah // Mandan Senior Pictures

Rebekah was my very first senior of the year and she absolutely killed her session! I had a blast exploring Bismarck with her and ending her session at her family’s farm. A huge storm rolled in while we were driving to Rebekah’s. It’s a miracle that 1-we weren’t rained out, and 2-the photos turned out at all because it was sooo dark out!!

One of my favorite couples celebrated one year of marriage this summer and it was the perfect excuse to get all dressed up again and have an anniversary shoot! I always have a blast hanging out with these two.

It’s pretty common in other states to take bridal photos after and often even before your wedding day! You have more time to travel to different locations, it is so much more relaxed, and you can completely focus on each other rather than family + guests. If you can’t tell, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these types of shoots :)

Today is September 30th and it is SNOWING outside my window. In memory of warmer days, I decided this long overdue Hawaiian elopement should FINALLY grace the blog tonight.

Britt and I worked together back in college and unfortunately haven’t lived in the same town since. When she told me she was going to spend a month on the island of Oahu, I obviously bought a plane ticket and booked a first class seat on her airbnb couch. A few weeks before her flight, Britt called me and said “What if I got married while we’re in Hawaii?”. I obviously had a slight heart attack and told her that it was the best idea I’ve ever heard. Thankfully for both of us her fiance was willing to go along with our plan.

That misty morning, with a wedding dress ordered from Amazon and last minute flowers from Chinatown, my best friend was the most beautiful bride. From the handwritten notes to her closest family in attendance, every part of the day was meaningful.

This elopement is the perfect example to show that a fancy venue, an expensive dress, the trendiest cake, and a large guest list aren’t what make a beautiful wedding day. The love between two people, sharing their day with those most important to them is all you truly need♥

Zach + Kristen // Glacier National Park Wedding

I'm not joking when I tell you I literally did a happy dance the moment I read Kristen's email asking if I was available for her wedding in Glacier National Park. I had done a session with Kristen and Zach before, so I knew they were going to be a dream to photograph on their big day.

Even when traffic in the park was crazy, finding a parking spot became a race, and the rain would only give us short breaks throughout the day, Kristen and Zach focused on the love between the two of them and didn't let anything ruin their day. They were surrounded by their closest family as they said "I do" at their intimate ceremony in the mountains.

That adorable sugar flower on one of the delicious pies? It's from Kristen's grandma's wedding cake that she saved for over 50 years! The entire day was perfection. Kristen and Zach, thanks a million for letting me be a part of your special day!
